Your transport...
If you're entering a car, you have to have period transport. Only pre-war cars are eligible, but if you're not entering a car you can park anything more modern in the 'modern' car park.
Your party
It's a party, so bring as many friends or members of the family that you can get in the car. You could even use the dickey for the mother-in-law, or one of your nice friends from overseas.
They'll all enjoy it.
Your accessories
Everyone would love to see what period accessories you have: the latest magazine, your new box camera, lovely period luggage, your trusty Wire Fox Terrier, or maybe a set of 1930's golf clubs. Don't forget the chauffeur if you have one, or you could bring the butler to serve you lunch.
Your picnic
For vintage motoring guests we provide morning coffee, a buffet lunch,
and a great traditional afternoon tea, and this year we're providing a
pay bar and also selling traditional homemade ice cream, so you don't
have to bring great quanities of liquid refreshment. Everyone needs to bring an evening picnic.
Once you've got your car and your outfits ready, it's time to lavish care and attention on your picnic. The evening picnic concert is the special occasion when all guests sit down together, and enjoy the setting, the music, and the atmosphere. So it's bottoms up, and bon appetit!
Here are some
great ideas for summer picnics.
Your seating plan
As you would expect of a lawn laid out a couple of hundred years ago, it's firm, perfectly flat, and beatifully manicured. Perfect in fact for picnicing.
Bring whatever you need to sit on, and something in case it rains. See if you can bring along suitable period picnic baskets, and folding wooden tables and chairs, which all add to the enjoyment. Sunshades look really lovely, but private awnings aren't quite the done thing. Please don't even think about a barbeque.
Any good children you can find
Children really love our party, it's complete fantasy and very exciting. There's dressing up, all the fun of sitting in the cars, and great food and great music. Memories of days out like these can last a lifetime.
There's no entry charge for little children. Please remember to take them home with you.

And your nicest smile!
Bring your nicest smile, it's going to be such fun.
And finally, in the expectation of finding something in the bazaar, bring your cheque book. Don't forget the entry tickets and lots of film for your camera.
