"We shall look forward to Westonbirt in August. We are coming home from a holiday on the Saturday evening, but such is our enthusiasm for all things 'Spirit of the Age", we shall be firing up the Alvis at dawn to motor up to be there at least one day.""

A moustache.

A Gentleman's attire.

Every gentleman should consider wearing a moustache, it's such a waste not to.  Your face will take on a whole new character, and women will think you look very dashing.

Clark Gable without a moustache, handsome but forgettable, and with, quite unique.  You too could look like this.

Moustaches styles.

T
here are inumerable variations of styles, and some are a bit suspect.  Because a moustache never stays still, it changes every day, and like a fine rose, appreciates constant pruning.  Two minutes with the scissors can change the way you look, and if you make a mistake you just let it grow again.  Endless fun.  Look how much happier Clark Gable looked once he grew a moustache.

Choosing the correct style.

Only you can judge what is correct for your face, but there are certain styles which seem to suit the jazz age period best.  Below are a few examples.

When no-one else is around you could draw one on with Mascarra or a felt tip pen, but make sure you don't use a pen with indellible ink.

How to grow a moustache.

1. Decide broadly the sort of moustache you require.

2.  Stop shaving your upper lip, extending this beyond the area of your intended moustache.

3.  After about a month you should have a very respectable moustache.

4.  Now, when it is fully grown, start styling it. You will need small sharp pointed scissors and a good razor (wet of course).

5.  You need to consider (1) the size, (2) general shape, (3) the leading edge and (4) the trailing edge.
Also consider the possiblility of a gap down the middle.

6.  Keep a small hair brush or nail brush handy, to keep it constantly well groomed, and to enable you to trim it with confidence.  Do this in good daylight.  Proper gentlemen always carry a moustache comb.

7.  Wash it often.

8. Consider a snood.  This will help hold your moustache in perfect condition throughout the night, and is a guaranteed passion-killer, should you feel the need for one.
